The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course was built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in 2004. As a whole, the course is designed to provide strategies and proven techniques for surviving an active shooter event.

The topics that will be discussed at this training event range from the history and presence of active shooter events to civilian response options, medical issues and more.

The training is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mt. Kisco Public Library (100 Main Street). Participation is free, but registration is required.
